Rectangular Cross-X Style Metal Table Base
The Rectangular Cross-X Style Metal Table Base is an adaptation of our popular Cross-X Style Metal Table Base, however this base is intended for use on narrow rectangular tops or oval tops. It is commonly used for dining tables, kitchen tables, coffee tables, desks, and much more. The base is free standing, and works with wood, stone, and even glass tops. The steep angles and geometric design of this base pair well with almost any contemporary, traditional, or industrial design accents.
This steel base uses simple geometry to create a highly functional aesthetic base design that will serve as an heirloom quality conversation piece for decades to come. Made from grade A500 structural steel, this metal base is build to last. The base can be made from a variety of different tubing sizes, depending on how prominent you want the base to look. Larger tubing sizes do also off additional strength and stability to the base. Since the base supports the center of the width and length sides of the tabletop, this base is not recommended for rectangular tops exceeding 36″ wide, as the corners of the top can be very easy tipping points for the assembled table. The base comes standard with mounting tabs with slotted mounting holes as well as felt-tipped leveling feet for floor protection. For glass top applications, the mounting tabs and holes are omitted, and the top of the base is left smooth and seamless and we include clear adhesive backed rubber bumpers for the glass to rest on.
