Metal table bases can be used for tops of all shapes, sizes, and materials. The bases can be used as traditional table bases, pedestal applications, or trestle applications, and work for dining table, desks, coffee tables, benches, side tables, and just about every other application. One unique feature with our metal table bases is that they can all be used for tabletops of all materials, including wood, stone, and even glass. Our metal table bases are fully welded, single piece builds requiring no assembly, and can therefore be less cost effective when compared to more traditional sets of Metal Table Legs. However, the pros far outweigh the cons with metal table bases, as the support to the tabletop, added rigidity, and stability of the base all exceed what can be accomplished with a traditional set of individual legs at a similar size.
We initially entered into the market of metal table legs and bases offering the "Best price guarantee" and focused heavily on volume over quality. This is the approach a majority of our competition still aims for; However early on we decided to transition to quality over quantity, making high quality pieces that we could be proud of. We know we're not the cheapest option, but we also strongly believe that you get what you pay for. We are not marking up our product prices simply for the brand name. Our staff is highly skilled, and takes great pride in the products they make. All of the metalworking here is done from start to finish by the same fabricator, as opposed to being passed off from person to person down an assembly line. This method instills a sense of pride in our staff, so that when a product is completed, they can look at it and be proud of the work they have done. This allows for our fabricators to pay extra attention to the minor details and provide a product of impeccable quality.
We have well over 100 years of combined experience building metal table legs and bases and as such we know what's important when it comes to the various designs and builds. We don't offer products with a limited weight capacity. As long as they are sized appropriately, all of our products can withstand the weight of the heaviest of tabletops. Our products are fully welded and therefore have no nuts and bolts that will loosen over time causing the table to sway and wobble. You are so confident in our product offerings, we offer a Lifetime Satisfaction Guarantee on all of our products. You can rest assured that when you buy a set of metal table legs from ECon Welding, you are buying a generational, heirloom quality piece of furniture that will be a conversational piece for decades to come.
Whether it's plywood, hardwood, reclaimed wood, or even epoxy/wood combinations, all of our metal table bases work for all types of wood tabletops. Wood is the most common tabletop material used. For wood top applications, our table bases come with either slotted or oversized mounting holes. This allows for the wood to freely expand and contract without splitting the wood, bending the metal base, or breaking the mounting screws. Our bases all come with an abundance of mounting hole locations, so you can choose which holes to use in order to avoid screwing into a knot, seam, or epoxy.
Glass tabletops create a modern, elegant look on furniture builds. Our custom table bases for glass top applications maintain this elegance by keeping a smooth and clean design through the glass. Instead of mounting plates with holes, the top of the base is capped off to be seamless with the surrounding base material. We also include adhesive backed rubber bumpers to stick on top of the metal base for the glass to rest on. This prevents the glass from rattling on the metalwork and also helps keep it from sliding off.
Our heavy-duty metal table bases work for all types of stone, including granite, quartz, quartzite, marble, concrete, and more. Stone is very heavy, and requires a strong, heavy-duty base to support it. Our bases are made from structural steel and fully welded to be able to handle the weight of the heaviest of tabletops. We can also create a full top frame, or add a full plate to the top of any of our bases to create a uniform support platform for more delicate stone top applications such as 2cm thick stone or porcelain material. Our bases can also be screwed into a plywood underlayment for a stone top to be glued to. Many of our custom table bases also work as-is for being glued directly to the stone top.
